Health Transformation in Colorado: How SIM Can Support & Leverage Colorado’s “Can-Do” Spirit

This presentation will provide a brief overview of Colorado’s SIM grant and will specifically focus on how rural communities can be an integral part of two essential components of the project — practice transformation as well as the work of regional collaboratives to support integration of behavioral health and primary care.

About the presenter:

Throughout her career in health policy and philanthropy, Vatsala has united traditional and non-traditional partners for the advancement of health-related issues. Before founding Rootstock, Vatsala was a healthcare consultant serving clients including Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Colorado. She also supported healthcare delivery for low-income populations as a senior program officer at The Colorado Health Foundation. In addition, as a CDC Foundation program officer, Vatsala managed national and international projects in conjunction with multinational corporations, foundations and professional associations. She also has extensive experience in state and community-level health policy in Colorado and Georgia.
Vatsala’s wide-ranging civic involvement includes several positions on board of directors, committees and planning groups. Vatsala received a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, a Master of Arts from the University of Texas, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Colorado College in Political Science and History.
