Member of the Month: Lake City Area Medical Center

Lake City Area Medical Center Recognized by Rural Health Association for Outstanding Quality of Care

Lake City Area Medical Center was created to provide comprehensive health care service for the residents and visitors of Hinsdale County and surrounding area.

Denver, Colo – The Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) is excited to announce this month’s featured member – Lake City Area Medical Center. The community’s first medical clinic opened in 1975, and in 2011 moved into the new 7,000 square foot facility in order to expand services and quality of care delivered.

The clinic is part of the Moseley Health Care Complex, which includes the Medical Clinic, Emergency Medical Services offices, training/meeting rooms, the ambulance garage, and the Zeller Wellness and Conference Center. The entire complex is equipped with advanced electronics and was constructed to be a multi-use facility.

Moseley Health Care Complex is staffed by a full time doctor, a nurse practitioner, and dentist. Services include family medicine, women’s health care, pediatric care, urgent care, x-ray and sonography, family dentistry, emergency services, ambulance service, arrangements for home health care, and mental health counseling.

CRHC has chosen Lake City Area Medical Center as this month’s featured member to highlight the facility’s engagement in CRHC programs, services and technical assistance opportunities. In the last several years, Lake City Medical Center has participated in healthy clinic assessments, health information technology support, workforce recruitment and retention efforts, and various trainings, workshops and conferences.

CRHC also recognizes the high level of engagement Lake City Medical Center has with their community and nearby residents. Most recently, Lake City Medical Center hosted their 2015 Health Fair, gathering volunteers, EMS and public health staff to coordinate a great event for community members.

In addition, Lake City Medical Center will be hosting its first Annual Endocrinology Conference later this year, displaying a commitment to programs that greatly impact the future health of rural Colorado.

The mission of Lake City Medical Center is to enhance the quality of life in the community by promoting wellness and providing quality health services with care and compassion while exercising fiscal responsibility. It is also worthy to note that Lake City Medical Center is also one of just a few clinics that has normal business hours seven days a week.

Lake City Medical Center is currently working with CRHC’s, Colorado Provider Recruitment program to recruit an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join the clinic.

CRHC recruiters share with likely candidates the timeless natural beauty, recreational opportunities, cultural events such as the annual wine festival, top rated school district, and of course, the new Moseley Health Care Complex all located in Lake City and the surrounding region.
