Summit Community Care Clinic in Frisco Recognized by Colorado Rural Health Center as Featured Member
Denver, Colo – The Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) is featuring Summit Community Care Clinic in Frisco as this month’s featured member.
The clinic is staffed by dedicated providers and staff who provide primary care, oral health, behavioral health, and reproductive health services to the residents of Frisco and surrounding area.
The clinic is designed to meet the needs of people who face barriers to accessing care, regardless of their ability to pay. The clinic has expanded greatly since its establishment in 1993, when it began as a volunteer walk-in clinic open one night per week.
CRHC’s outreach program manager, Bridgette Olson, was in Frisco for the 4th of July celebration this month.
“I have never been to a citywide celebration that could match what I experienced in Frisco,” said Bridgette. “I grew up in rural Minnesota, so I am familiar with small town culture. The community in Frisco was energetic, welcoming and beyond fun!”
Summit Community Care Clinic has been a long-time safety net clinic in rural Colorado, but has recently been approved as a Federally Qualified Health Center.
CRHC chose to feature Summit Community Care Clinic in light of next month’s awareness events around Safety Net Clinic Week. Learn more about the difference of these designations during Safety Net Clinic Week or check out these resources from the US Department of Health and Human Resources.
