As of January 1st, reform proposals have been passed by both the House and the Senate. Originally, both chambers were going to hold a formal conference committee to iron out the differences between the bills, but now, in order to minimize the partisan fights, Democrats will be having informal negotiations to come to an agreement on a final healthcare reform bill.
Democrats are hopeful to have something on the President’s desk before the end of the month.
