CMS has released the final rule for the 2017 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment Changes. This follows the proposed rulemaking released for comment on July 6^th. While the rule covers many OPPS areas, it also has the anticipated change for the EHR incentive program’s 2016 reporting period.

For 2016, eligible professionals, hospitals and CAH’s who have previously demonstrated meaningful use can report on any continuous 90 day reporting period within calendar year 2016. This 90 day reporting period is also extended for 2017 MU.
