Job Summary: The Director of Nursing is at the head of and directly manages the nursing services departments and, in turn, is at the head of most in-patient satisfaction. The main focus is on quality, maximizing efficiency, patient satisfaction and making positive investments. It is this individual’s job to oversee the patient care activities, ensure continuing education, staff development, and regulatory compliance and licensure with regulatory bodies. They must prepare and administer monthly, to annual budgets and reports, along with developing and implementing objectives, procedures and standards for care. One must actively evaluate the nursing services in relation to objectives and report back to the CEO. It is the directors job to create a positive, collaborative work environment and to provide guidance to staff. Directing personnel functions, hiring and retention of staff, and handling any disciplinary actions is also expected of the Nursing Director. This opportunity requires someone with leadership and management skills and experience. Critical thinking, communication, and effective problem solving are major aspects of this position. Position Qualifications: This position requires a broad knowledge of the healthcare system. A Master’s Degree from an accredited RN nursing program is preferred, Bachelor’s minimum, and 5 years head of nursing experience is required. The applicant must also hold current certification in
