CMS has just released a notice of a proposed rule-making on Inpatient Prospective Payment Hospital reimbursements and other matters. Embedded in this proposed rule making are several statements indicating their intent to implement ICD10 effective October 15, 2015!
While this is a proposed rule-making, there is broad expectation that this will become the new official date.
The proposed rule-making also describes further payment adjustments for PPS hospitals who are not meaningful users after 2015. Additionally, there is language to align the full set of Hospital IQR (quality reporting) with meaningful use reporting periods.
