Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center Recognized by the CRHC for Providing High Quality Health Care Services to Residents in Southeastern Colorado
Denver, CO— Located in southeastern Colorado, the town of La Junta, sits on the banks of the Arkansas River bordered by farmland and expansive grasslands. The community boasts an excellent school system, junior college, law enforcement academy, regional airport, downtown business district, and the regional medical center and specialty clinics.
This month the Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) is recognizing the medical center, Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center (AVRMC), as its featured member of the month. Every month, the CRHC recognizes one of its members whose work supports the CRHC’s vision that all rural Coloradans have access to comprehensive, affordable, high quality healthcare.
AVRMC is a rural hospital licensed to house 90 acute care and extended care hospital beds and operate a nursing home located on the campus that offers both semi-private and private rooms. The hospital dates back to the early 1900’s when it was managed by the Mennonite Sanitarium Board. In 1924 a dairy farm at the edge of town was purchased as the new site for the present day hospital. AVRMC took over operations as a new not-for-profit corporation in July of 1998.
ARVMC prides itself on providing high-quality, compassionate health care services to residents of La Junta and the surrounding communities.
ARVMC recently joined CRHC membership. CRHC offers a variety of services, programs, and technical assistance at no charge or discounted rates to members. This affords members the opportunity to participate in multiple services at little or no cost. CRHC is excited to partner with ARVMC as we continue our mission together with our members of enhancing healthcare services available in rural communities to ensure that all Coloradans have access to comprehensive, affordable, high quality healthcare.
