2021 Swing Bed Webinar

Join the Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) for a webinar on Swing Bed usage in Critical Access Hospitals (CAH). Utilizing swing beds in CAHs provides a viable option at the local community level for patients in need of skilled care.

During the two-hour CAH Swing Bed Webinar, the Joffit Group will cover updates to the Swing Bed Program and an overview of Medicare Swing Bed regulations for CAHs including:
Managing your Swing Bed Program
Understanding best practices in clinical care
Meeting staffing requirements
Compiling with documentation regulations
Applying program rules to swing bed cases
Understanding best practices of a successful swing bed program
Engaging key stakeholders
Maximizing network hospital partnerships

Presenters:
Cathy Battaglia, PhD, MSHA, RN
Cathy has expertise in research, education and program evaluation. She brings a wide range of experience to clients in the healthcare industries, including, hospitals physician practices and healthcare coalitions. Her qualifications translate to the public and private sectors. Cathy has a PhD in Clinical Sciences with an emphasis in health services research, focusing on rural health care policy and patient outcomes. She has a Master’s Degree of Health Care Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.

Dana G. Pepper, MPA, MBA, RN
Dana is accomplished in strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and leadership development and training in a variety of health care settings. Her experience includes executive administration in acute and long term care, outpatient services, physician relations, and health plan operations and strategies. Dana’s ability to manage shifts in health care practice, technology, and staff development has provided the framework for organizations to meet their operational and financial goals.
Dana has a Master’s Degree of Public Administration with an emphasis on non-profit management, a Master’s Degree of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
