Topic:   The New CO Law HB18-1128 for Data Privacy

Colorado HB 18-1128 -Strengthening Protections for Consumer Data Privacy went into effect September 1, 2018.This lawrequires “covered entities” to comply with new rules regarding the security and disposal of “personal identifying information” (PII), and an expanded definition of “personal information” with more stringent notification standards in the event of a security breach involving PII.

CRHC members must harmonize this new law with HIPAA requirements, or be subject to fines. This webinar will dive into the requirements and provide additional detail to the August webinar where we first introduced this new law.
