In January, CMS announced they would release a notice of proposed rule making to provide for a shorter meaningful use reporting period in 2015 and to align hospital reporting to a calendar year. This is primarily done in recognition that so many eligible hospitals and professionals are not prepared to do a full fiscal or calendar year meaningful use reporting period under stage 2 in 2015.
