CEO Update: Happy Holidays!
I love this time of year because our family has so many great traditions that bring us joy. One of my favorite traditions is building and decorating a gingerbread house. When my daughter was two, we bought a gingerbread house kit and had a fun time decorating and maybe eating the icing and candy! We have decorated a gingerbread house each year since. The fun and laughter have continued as we try to perfect our decorating techniques, although they are limited. Check out the house we decorated this year in the picture on the right. One of the other things that I love about the holiday season is celebrating and being thankful for all we have accomplished and those that have helped us reach our goals.
This year we are thankful for the Members, Foundations, Sponsors, and Exhibitors that have supported CRHC and allowed us to continue to support our 47 rural counties. In 2018, CRHC invested $3.1 million into rural communities in Colorado. CRHC receives grant funding each year with one mission: to pass the benefits on to rural communities and to make your work more successful.
Some of these benefits include technical assistance through federal and private grant funding that support quality improvement, emergency preparedness, and operational and financial support to facilities in rural communities. CRHC provided 14,135 technical assistance encounters, 131 webinars and education opportunities, support 33 bills and provided testimony and data on the rural health impact. CRHC also produced a number of documents including the Snapshot of Rural Health, Regional Snapshots, Maps, Fact Sheets on Access to Healthcare: Primary Care, Obesity and Diabetes, Opioids, Oral Health, Health Indicators Overview by County, iCARE Infographs and updated White Papers on iCARE and the Healthy Clinic Assessment.
I am looking forward to 2019 as CRHC continues to aim to support rural sustainability through the benefits listed above, an expanded Snapshot of Rural Health, and many more programs and services.
Thank you to all who work in and in support of rural communities. Have an amazing holiday and see you in the New Year! To see CRHC’s holiday card this year, click here.
