A Rural Health Clinic in Southeast Colorado is seeking a dedicated, patient-centered BC/BE Family Physician to practice a full scope of medicine, including outpatient, inpatient and ER coverage. Providers will round in the morning before clinic, and the average daily acute census is two patients. ER call will be one 24-hour period during the week and one three-day weekend per month. The volume in ER ranges from 4-5 patients per day. You will also provide care to residents in the Long Term Care center on-site as needed. The clinic is open Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, and your schedule will be flexible with consideration for the call schedule. You will be required to hold an ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certification upon hire. The hospital does not offer OB services, thus OB is neither required nor an option at this time. The clinic is able to support a J-1 Visa waiver.
The Rural Health Clinic is a new facility, offering a warm and comfortable environment and a very homey, yet highly functional setting for the staff. You will be joining a team of four other Physicians, one Family Nurse Practitioner, and one Physician Assistant, as well as several part-time employed providers. All RNs are trauma-trained, and the facility has applied for Level IV Trauma designation. The local hospital, next door, is a 23 bed critical access hospital and also offers a 40 bed LTCC and a 16 bed Alzheimer’s unit. The medical staff provides a continuum of primary care for rural residents, visitors, and travelers on a major highway corridor. The hospital hosts visiting specialists who offer monthly clinics in collaboration with the local providers. The providers are supported by highly trained nursing staff, excellent ambulance service, home health, hospice, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, respiratory therapy, CT, Laboratory, CO-DOC telemedicine, and MRI.
