Many physicians report significant dissatisfaction in their work and identify many stressors that are negatively impacting personal health, team effectiveness, and patient care. Organizations would do well to better understand and develop strategies for supporting physician resiliency and addressing the negative impacts of stress on medical teams.
This session will:
1) Explore the prevalence of incivility, stress and burnout among providers
2) Consider the impact on culture, and downstream effects on medical teams, patient safety and satisfaction
3) Identify organization, leadership and individual beliefs and actions that perpetuate ineffective relationships and self-care practices
4) Provide suggestions for creating a positive work culture, and setting the conditions for provider and staff well-being
