The coding options for conditions associated with drugs and chemicals are wide and varied. Sorting out the coding guidelines is one thing, but nailing down provider documentation to know where to start looking in the index is another thing all together. In this webinar, we will delve into the coding guidelines and sort substance abuse from poisonings, accidental from undetermined intent, and discuss documentation clues for coding underdosings.
Objectives:
- Determine when to report substance abuse codes with poisoning codes
- Identify poisoning intent
- List synonyms for underdosing
